Our Philosophy
What we're all about
At Regio, our teachers are trained and committed educators who are passionate about children.
Our staff receive in house and external training through SA Childcare Association to which we are affiliated as a member.
The goal we have at Regio Pre-school is to develop our children as a whole i.e. mentally, emotionally, physically, ethically and aesthetically.
To achieve these goals, we make use of a well-rounded and thorough educational program which encompasses the following:

Language development is of utmost importance at preschool level as the most part of a child’s vocabulary forms at this age.

Incidental mathematical concepts which are important for Mathematics even from grade 1.

Gross motor skills which are essential for muscle development and movement as well as balance, positioning in space and carrying out instructions.

Fine motor skills which are necessary for writing, cutting, modeling and co-ordination.

Visual perception: Discrimination, memory, foreground and background, analysis synthesis, sequence.

Auditory perception: Positioning, sounds and phonetics, eye-hand and eye-foot co- ordination, systems differentiation, sound localization and sound direction, moving sound stimuli, rhythm and sound consistency, sound and meanings, foreground and background, auditory analysis synthesis and auditory sequences.

Achieving the various milestones at each age is such an important part of every child’s development, and each milestone is so unique to their abilities. That is why we have a program that is different and allows for individuality, allowing each child from baby to grade R, to reach these milestones to the best of their ability.
